Col Mike Lee – Commander, NM Wing
Colonel Mike Lee, as New Mexico Wing Commander, serves as chief executive officer for the more than 800 members of Civil Air Patrol’s New Mexico Wing. Col. Lee joined CAP in December of 2007. He served as Squadron Commander of the Roswell Composite Squadron from February 2010 to September 2013, and as New Mexico Wing Vice Commander (South) from March 2014 to June 2015.
Col Lee received his Level V Gill Robb Wilson Award in June of 2014. He has a Master’s rating in Professional Development.
Col Lee has been a fully qualified Mission Pilot, Orientation Pilot and Glider Tow Pilot. He now serves as Mission Observer/Scanner and is qualified to fly Cessna 182 and 172 aircraft.
For 32 years, he was a Band Director in the public schools of Texas and New Mexico. He is now retired. He is also an active clinician and judge for band and choir contests in both Texas and New Mexico.
He and his wife Suzy of 41 years have two children, Allison Boyd (married) of Odessa, Texas and Randy (married) of Lubbock, Texas. They have one granddaughter, Madelyn, daughter of Josh and Allison Boyd and one grandson, Greyson, son of Randy and Nicki Lee.
